ECLUG is going to be doing a "mini-course" on Linux System Administration over the next several months, one class every other month.

In these classes, we're going to start describing the system administration spects of using Linux. This is targeted towards members who know next to nothing about system administration.

System administration covers all the things that you have to do to keep your computer running Linux in a usable condition. It includes things like backing up and restoring files, installing new software and hardware, creating and deleting user accounts, filesystem maintenance, and so on.

The goal of putting the information here, is to help everyone learn about Linux and system administration of Linux, between meetings and off-times. Everyone can contribute their own sections to this document, it is a living document, and should continue to grow and improve over time.
